A man who lives in a small rural community in western Massachusetts has been sentenced to 20 years in prison for shooting an injured dog.
The Lad Bible, which focuses on the story of a Lad who has to navigate life after losing his family, released the news on Thursday after sentencing.
The man, who has not been identified, was sentenced in a Massachusetts courtroom Thursday after pleading guilty to charges that he shot an injured lark in May 2015.
The Lark was shot on the driveway of the man’s home after he lost his wife and two children to a car accident in the small town of White Plains.
He also faces charges of unlawful use of a firearm and reckless endangerment.
He is scheduled to be sentenced in April.
